    Description

Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago, St. Louis Railway Company, etc. Booklet for employees concerning Car Seals
This auction is a booklet given to employees of the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago, St. Louis R.R. Co. and also Cincinnati Northern Rd., Peoria & Eastern Railway. It is instructions to all employees regarding car seals from the Superintendent of Freight Transportation. It was effective April 1, 1920.
As I understand it, seals are important because they indicate the freight doors have not been opened from when they were loaded until they have reached their proper destination. This pamphlet contains many regulations to assure the security of the freight.
It is in good condition considering it was carried around a lot. There are worn places and minor stains on the cover but the inside pages are good, although they have darkened over the years.
As of this year, the booklet has just passed the 100-year mark and is officially an antique!
It is approximately 3“ x 5“ and has 12 pages. I have shown a sample of the inside pages. If you have any questions, please ask them before you bid, as this item is not returnable. It has been kept inu a non-smoking home. Thanks for looking.
