    Description

From the last decade of the 19th century when the blacksmith forge was ringing hot, the four (4) oak hand hewn beams pictured formed the perimeter of the smithy and a small shop for repairs on the few Model 'T's & Model 'A's in the farming community.
These beams were set on stone piers, raised off the ground and had airflow, important in vintage wood for reuse/re-purposing plans. Each beam is 120+ year old and stood the test of time; there are nail bits, knots, trails and pin holes present, some weather and bug damage as photos show. With the old growth, tight grain and structural integrity, 'they're just not making this stuff anymore!'
    Specs/dimensions:
    Minus the rabbet notch cuts on beam ends, the dimensions are as follows: 1) 16'4"  x 6" x 8"; 2) 16' 8.5" x 6.5" x 6"; 3) 14'4" x 6" x 7"; and 4) 7' 4.5" x 6" x 7". Each rabbet cut is roughly 8", so add 16" to each of the first 3 beams for total length; #4 beam (shortest), add 12" for full length with its rabbet notches.
If you're looking for hand hewn beams for an interior renovation or add-on, guest cottage or mantles, then these fine old beauties are ideal. Can pick up locally or I will help arrange shipping. FBO/ shipping paid by buyer. Thanks for looking in and your consideration! With appreciation~ millworker
